Pursuant to Article 13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (Personal Data Protection Code), Master Profili Srl (hereinafter “Company”), provides you with the following information regarding cookies installed on the https://www.masterprofili.com/ domain (hereinafter “Site”) or from other domains accessible through ii Site.

What are cookies?

Cookies are text strings that the sites visited by the user store on the hard disk of the computer or on any device used to access the Internet (smartphone, tablet), to be retransmitted to the same sites during subsequent access to the Internet by the user.

Cookies may be permanently stored on the user’s computer and have a variable duration (so-called persistent cookies) but may also disappear when the browser is closed or have a limited duration (so-called session cookies).

Cookies may be installed by the site you are visiting (so-called first-party cookies), or may be installed by other websites (so-called third-party cookies) and are used to perform computer authentication, session tracking and to store information regarding the activities of users accessing a site.

Depending on the purpose of use, they are classified in:

  • Navigation and functionality cookies: used respectively for authentication purposes and to improve the user’s experience (e.g. storage of language preferences);

  • Analytical cookies: used by the site manager to collect information on the
    users visiting that site;

  • Profiling cookies: used for advertising purposes to send messages in line with the preferences of users collected while browsing the web;

  • Social cookies: used to allow interaction with social networks.

According to the regulations in force in Italy, explicit acceptance of cookies by the user is not required if they are identified as “technical”“, meaning they are exclusively aimed at transmitting a communication over an electronic communication network.

As indicated by the Data Protection Officer (see General Provision “Identification of simplified methods for the information and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies – 8 May 2014”) the following are to be considered technical:

  • analytical cookies where used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate and anonymous form, on the number of users and how they visit the site;

  • navigation and functionality cookies
